Why we require your identification

To ensure a safe and legal marketplace for photographic equipment, we are required by the Second-Hand Goods Act 6 of 2009 to verify the identity of every customer purchasing or selling used gear. Under Section 21 of the Act, all registered dealers must maintain a register that includes a copy of the customer’s original identity document, passport, or driver’s license. Please note that we are legally prohibited from completing the sale of any used item without this verification; providing a valid ID is a mandatory requirement for purchase.

We understand that sharing your identification is a sensitive matter, and we take your privacy seriously. Your data is handled in strict accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) 4 of 2013. All uploaded documents are stored on secure, encrypted servers and are used only for mandatory legal compliance.
